Let me share a heartfelt story about how I met the love of my life. In June 2019, I traveled to India to begin my master’s degree. I reconnected with a childhood friend, and we agreed to stay together once I arrived. He picked me up from the airport, and as we made our way home, he told me about the other Zimbabweans in our area. Then he mentioned a girl named Amanda, saying, “You will really like her.” I tried to play it cool, but inside, I was intrigued.

When we got home, visitors came to welcome me, and I remember one girl saying that “Amanda has found a perfect match.” My curiosity piqued, but I kept my composure. Shortly after, Amanda knocked on the door. She appeared in a red sweater and black jeans, her radiant presence momentarily left me in awe. Deep down, I knew she was the one. After a brief introduction and conversation, she left, and I confided in my friend that I couldn’t stop thinking about her. It truly felt like love at first sight.

I tried to reach out, but Amanda played hard to get. I told my friend that I intended to marry her one day; he laughed, not believing she would give me a chance. Yet, I was determined. After a while, she did give me a chance, and we began a beautiful friendship that lasted from June 2019 until January 2020. The emotional connection we developed was genuine—there was undeniable chemistry between us. On January 3, 2020, we officially started dating.

In 2021, after completing our master’s programs, we both returned to Zimbabwe. I feel incredibly blessed to have gained both my degree and the love of my life. While we encountered challenges during our time in Zimbabwe, we faced them together, always supporting each other. In 2022, we took a leap and moved to Dubai to launch our professional careers. When I received a job offer in the UK, the thought of leaving her behind was unbearable. Thankfully, fate intervened, and she got the opportunity to join me in the UK in 2023.

Once we settled in the UK, I realized there was only one thing on my mind: I wanted to marry her. When I finally proposed, she said “Yes,” and in May 2024, we celebrated our traditional wedding, marking a beautiful and unforgettable moment in our journey.

Our relationship has been a true roller coaster, filled with ups and downs. What I cherish most about us is our acceptance of each other's imperfections; we don’t strive for perfection. Instead, we embrace our flaws and support each other, which makes our bond that much stronger. Amanda is not just my partner; she is my best friend, my business partner, and my inspiration. I look forward to building our happily ever after together.
